Evia Music is an independent record company and music school located on Sanger Square teaching guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, piano, percussion, full kit drums, theory, songwriting, and voice.

CLASSES OFFERED

Guitar

Electric or acoustic, we can show you how to play like Tony Rice or Van Halen. Don’t want to shred? We can show you how to read basic chord charts and get you playing the music you love. 

Bass

Bass was never just a fish. It is a vital component of any great rhythm section, and the world needs more bassists. Learn how to read bass clef, play slap bass, learn iconic songs, and much more.

Ukelele

It’s hard to be mad when strumming a ukulele. Learn your favorite songs on the world’s smallest/cutest guitar. The ukulele is also a terrific intro to 6 string guitar for younger kids.

Victor Gann

Owner

Victor Gann is a recognized and critically acclaimed Dallas guitarist and instructor. Victor has personally taught 10’s of thousands of lessons to thousands of students, many of who have pursued a career in music.

Victor has played live on MTV and worked with many Hollywood and Dallas based bands. He has performed & produced numerous albums by multiple artists.

He is a graduate of G.I.T., with degrees in Professional Guitar and Music Harmony & Theory. He has also taken lessons from guitar players such as: Andy Timmons, Thad Bonduris, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Scott Henderson, Keith Wyatt, Jennifer Batten, Steve Trovato and Nuno Bettencourt.

Victor was named in the February 2008 edition of 20th Century Guitar Magazine as one of four guitarists making waves in the music world.
In June of 2008 Victor was named as “The Unsigned Artist Of The Month” by Ultimate-Guitar.Com.
In December of 2008 Victor was named as one of “The Unsigned Artists Of The Year” by Ultimate-Guitar.Com
In February of 2009 Victor was named as a “Featured Artist” by Metal Monthly.
In May of 2009 Victor was named as “An Artist You Must See” by the Dallas Morning News.
In December of 2009 Victor was named as one of the “Top Ten Artists Of The Year” by Metal Monthly.
In 2012 Victor was a guest judge for Brad Davis’s “The Songwriters” show.
In 2013 Victor supplied the score for the film “Sins Of The Father”.

Victor has also won multiple Effigy awards.

Victor has also scored themes and soundtrack music for NASCAR, ESPN, Access Hollywood, Comedy Central, CMT, as well as many pieces for The Travel Channel among others. Victor also volunteers his time as a youth leader at church, FCA, and is currently serving his 2nd term as a Councilman for the City of Sanger.

Nik Woods

Director/Instructor

Guitar, Piano, Ukulele, Bass and Mandolin

Nik is a professional guitarist and guitar instructor. He has performed in the DFW music scene since 2007. At 15, he performed with the Victor Gann Band and formed his first band with his school mates, Intervinea. After Highschool he attended two semesters at NCTC Gainesville before deciding to head to Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. At M.I, he earned a certificate in guitar performance from the Guitar Institute of Technology.

Nik has instructed at Evia music since 2015 and taught thousands of lessons. He has performed with Melissa Ratley, NCTC Jazz Band, Little Elmo and The Mambo Kings, Snake Soda, and Dax Davis.

Bruce Bowers

Instructor

Drums

With over 40 years of experience playing and recording drums, Bruce Bowers brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the EVIA MUSIC Recording Company & Music School faculty.

A seasoned performer with a long history of live and studio work, Bruce Bowers is dedicated to sharing his passion for drumming with students of all levels. From technique and theory to performance and recording, Bruce Bowers provides personalized instruction and guidance to help students achieve their musical goals.

Teng Cao

Instructor

Piano

Pianist Teng Cao is a passionate advocate for the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. In 2021, Teng was named a winner of the Honors Competition in Piano at New England Conservatory, where she performed Michael Finnissy’s Gershwin Arrangements. She also performed Concerto Grosso No. 1 by Alfred Schnittke with Maestro Hugh Wolff and NEC Philharmonia in 2021 at Jordan Hall. Additionally, Teng performed Boutonnière by Marti Epstein in the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s pre-concert series and worked with the local composer prior to the performance. Teng also participated in the concert series for the celebration of Beethoven’s 250th Birthday, where she performed Beethoven’s piano sonata at Williams Hall, NEC. In the summer of 2021, Teng was invited to perform with local musicians at the Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice. In the 2023–24 season, Teng was named the winner of the William Gammon Henry Concerto Competition, where she performed Ravel’s Left HandConcerto in January 2024. In 2025, she presented at MTNA in Minnesota, representing the University of North Texas with a presentation on sight reading, in collaboration with Piano Marvel.

Teng graduated from New England Conservatory with her Master of Music in Piano Performance, where she studied with Stephen Drury and Gabriel Chodos. She also holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in New York, where she studied with Morey Ritt. Currently, Teng is a Graduate Teaching Fellow and member of the NOVA performance ensemble at UNT. She is pursuing her DMA in piano performance under the direction of Dr. Pamela Mia Paul.

Roma Maslak

Instructor

Piano and Voice

Roma Maslak has been teaching piano and voice at Evia Music since 2017. She is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University, majoring inMusic and minoring in Psychology. Roma directs the children’s choir at Trietsch United Methodist Church.  She also enjoys singing in Trietsch’s chancel choir. Roma and her husband Gregg lead worship and performtogether when they can. In addition, Roma has performed in New York’s Carnegie Hall and at Disney World with her college choir.
